7Zip and Winrar Comparison

It is an open-source compression - archiving program developed in C++. It was first released on July 18, 1999.

It supports many operating systems such as Windows, Linux, OS X, BSD, React OS, AmigaOS.

It is free compared to the Winrar program.

While it can read and extract all types of data compression like Winrar, Winzip, and others, it can compress data most efficiently in its own compression format, 7z.

Compared to Winrar and other data compression programs, it compresses much more efficiently.

It is a paid data compression program developed for Windows. It was first released on April 22, 1995.

With subsequent updates, it became usable not only by Windows OS but also by Android, OS X, and Linux operating systems.

Although it is a paid program, you can also use it for free, but according to the user agreement, once the trial period is over you promise to buy the product, and its developers make money depending on whether you keep your word or not.

Like the 7Zip program, it can read and extract all archives.

7Zip has a simpler graphical interface, while Winrar comes with an interface that appeals more to end users.

In Winrar, you can add comments to the archive and anyone who downloads the archive can see this comment, but in the 7Zip program, you cannot add comments to the archive, only information automatically generated about the content by 7z can be shown.

The 7Zip program runs faster than Winrar.

The 7Zip program compresses more compared to Winrar and saves more space.

As a result of these simple comparisons, based on my personal opinions, I can say this to you: If you are dealing with large files and want files to be extracted quickly from the archive, 7Zip works quite a bit faster compared to Winrar. Also, with Winrar, I encountered problems such as multiple Winrar files not extracting while opening files from the archive and "not responding" errors on the desktop, but with the 7Zip program, I did not have these problems when extracting multiple archive files to the same folder or desktop.

When archiving or reading archives with 7Zip, it consumes more RAM compared to Winrar, and so if you want to play games or deal with heavy tasks while extracting archives, this can sometimes create problems with 7Zip.

The choice is up to you here, but on my own computer I use the 7Zip program.
