I do not think Windows Defender alone would be sufficient in such cases.
This is especially valid for game cheats and pirated programs.

Server; In general, on Windows servers, there absolutely should be extra security software.
If you ask "Why?", you can never know what the person you rented the server to might do with the server, so to be on the safe side, you must definitely install a solid security program on the server system.

In my opinion, Windows 10 and the included Windows Defender provide quite good protection for systems used on a daily basis.
