Murder House

Murder House

I never thought I would be this scared and disturbed by a game. As I mentioned in my Puppet Combo post, this guy makes horror games—actually, it would be more accurate to say psychological horror - thriller. Seeing that such successful games can be made with PS1 graphics is quite surprising.

Murder House

A local news crew goes to an abandoned house to shoot a ghost story and we play as an intern girl on the team. The abandoned house is actually the house of Anthony Smith, a serial killer who was executed, and the serial killer's nickname is Easter Ripper. But here's the problem: the Easter Ripper is not actually dead and is lurking in the house you went to, trying to kill you. The only way to escape is by doing what he says: finding the Easter eggs he has hidden around and putting them in the basket, but this is not as easy as it sounds. While a serial killer is on your heels, there are many puzzles to solve and you can only save the game with pens you find lying around, and those are quite limited. You don’t have the luxury of saving the game often and progressing step by step. The serial killer will start chasing you as soon as he sees you. You can hide somewhere, but you won’t have happy moments if he finds you. Still, you have a weapon shaped like a spear to protect yourself, but you can’t kill the Easter Ripper with it. You can only stun him for a few seconds to allow yourself to escape.

Murder House

With its music, atmosphere, and story (especially the ending), get ready to really feel like there’s a serial killer after you. Further into the story, there are scenes that may turn your stomach—at least, mine did. Because of this, you might want to take a quick look at its videos before buying the game. You can buy Murder House on Steam for 20.50 TL.
