Night Watch - Review

Night Watch

Night Watch

Have you ever thought about being a night watchman in the forest? I wouldn't want to, especially staying all alone in the darkness by myself. In Night Watch, a game by Puppet Combo, you play your first day as a night watchman in the middle of the forest. Of course, you're alone in the darkness and the atmosphere is very tense. The only thing you have to do is stay awake and if there is a problem or you receive a call for help, intervene. What can you do if there is no problem? You can go outside your cabin and observe the surroundings from a high place. You can check the weather on your computer and load a game you bring from the storage onto your computer and play it. Yes, there is a game within the game, but it's not a completely independent game to pass the time from Night Watch. You load a text-based game and make certain decisions by reading what is written. As you continue playing Night Watch, you start to realize you are actually inside the game you loaded. The moment you realize this, everything becomes more meaningful and more tense.

I can say Night Watch is a game that makes you tense rather than scared, both while playing and watching. The sound effects can sometimes get on your nerves, especially the computer noises. At the same time, you will encounter a few unexpected events in this game that manages to convey its atmosphere, and the whole game will start to make more sense. It's a production you could call a snack, the playing time and things you can do are quite limited. We can say the playtime is 30-40 minutes. You can finish it in one sitting and probably won't go back, anyway, for most Puppet Combo games, your life shouldn't be going well to want to play them again. To understand what I mean by this last point, you should buy and play a few Puppet Combo games. Although it offers a short playtime, I can say Night Watch is a very tasteful and well-balanced game. Even if the end of the game is not satisfying, I think there will be a sequel.
