Nun Massacre

Nun Massacre

Nun Massacre, also known as Night of the Nun. It is a survival horror game developed by Puppet Combo in 2018. The game starts with a brief story: A mysterious letter suddenly arrives at your home, saying that your daughter at boarding school has fallen ill. You set out to pick up your daughter from the school, but there is a storm outside and the road is blocked at some point, so you arrive at the school on foot. Finally, the actual game begins. As in most previous games developed by Puppet Combo, the player must unlock new rooms while escaping from the killer and collect items to reach the end of the game. Our killer, in this case, is the very nun at the school. Nun Massacre was made inspired by the 2018 horror film The Nun, and shares items and designs with another Puppet Combo game, Stay Out of the House.

Nun Massacre

When the player enters the boarding school, they start investigating where their daughter is. During this process, they find functional items that will be useful throughout the game, such as a lighter and a radar, and find and read some notes. Let me say right away, the notes have no effect on the gameplay. You can tell from the radar that the nun is approaching, but if the nun is already near you, your screen starts to get static, not just noisy (radar and the static effect can sometimes work at the wrong times, meaning your screen can go static even if the nun is on a different floor, or the radar might show the nun as very close even when she's not, just so you know). When this happens, you can hide under a bed or run away far, but if the nun sees you, she will start to chase you and if she sees you hide under the bed, she will flip the bed and hit you. Likewise, if she sees you get into a vent, she can follow you. No matter where you go throughout the game, you will try to finish the game by escaping from the nun, who wants to follow you and kill you. Nun Massacre, which has longer gameplay compared to other Puppet Combo games, has multiple endings, but exactly three that are considered definitive (good, bad, and neutral endings). You can play the game with different visual formats. These are VHS, black and white, and psx. My favorite was VHS. The price of the game is only 4.95 USD.

Nun Massacre makes you experience helplessness and fear in different places throughout the game. Since the moment you open the game, a tension descends on you. Although there is only one killer and a huge school, you need to always be on alert and ready to run because the nun can be right next to you at any moment. Personally, this game may be Puppet Combo's best after Stay Out of the House and Murder House. I really like how they link some of their games, but I also want them to connect them in terms of story and put them on a timeline. Otherwise, I just say yes, the same killer, yes, the same places. In short, Nun Massacre is a game with classic Puppet Combo graphics, that is, PS1 graphics and nice sound effects, a game that has been worked on, and definitely deserves a price like 5 dollars. If you like horror games, I think you will like this game. By the way, in my opinion, the nun is actually the daughter we came to rescue. For some reason, she calls us to the boarding school to get revenge on us.

And here are the suggestions from our friends at Puppet Combo for the Nun Massacre game. These suggestions are presented at the beginning of the game.
  • Play alone in the dark.
  • Play as if your life is really in danger.
  • Do not play more than once a day.
  • Be careful in the vents.
Good luck.

Endings of Nun Massacre

  1. Ms. McDonnell goes insane and buries herself alive. (neutral ending)
  2. Ms. McDonnell gets trapped in a vent that bends reality and is killed by a small humanoid figure made of light.
  3. Ms. McDonnell burns the nun alive and is forgiven by Clown Bongo. (good ending)
  4. Ms. McDonnell is trapped in a room and the nun kills her with acid vomit. (bad ending)
  5. Ms. McDonnell is trapped in a barbed wire pit, the nun arrives after a few seconds and kills her.
  6. The nun catches Ms. McDonnell and kills her.
