PlanetSide 2 - Review

PLANETSIDE 2

It is difficult to make a massive MMOFPS game with an MMORPG vibe, and even if it's made, it is rarely played and liked, but PlanetSide 2 has been succeeding at this for years and keeps us playing. What makes this game so special, or what are its differences from others—it's a game that requires a long discussion. It is so detailed and filled with strategies that it can't fit into a single review.

Our game has a massive map, and there is a continuous war happening all over it, a war that has been ongoing since the very first day the game was released. The main players in the game are 3 empires (New Conglomerate, Terran Republic, Vanu Sovereignty) trying to capture each other’s territories. Each empire has 6 different soldier classes (Engineer, Medic, MAX, Infiltrator, Light Assault, Heavy Assault). You can change your character as much as you want throughout the game, don’t worry.

Each empire has its own special vehicles and extra features, meaning there isn’t a single dominant empire or class; all are balanced with each other. What matters is to define your strategy well, choose the soldier class that suits your situation, and make the right vehicle choice. Which map you are fighting on and with whom, in which region, are important for making such decisions. You need to constantly change these choices because as I said, the war is continuous. While you and your team are struggling to capture an area, another corner of your empire may be in danger of being captured, and you may instantly need to go there.

PlanetSide 2 is not a pay-to-win game; paying money only gives you cosmetics. You can get some powerful weapons too, but everyone can get those weapons by saving up in-game currency, so it’s not a game where only paying players get strong. After a long period of playing, you both get stronger and play better since you gain experience and get used to the game. As a result, you’ll start enjoying it even more than when you first began. To get the real fun, it is always better to play as a team.

From the battles you join to defend your region to the wars you join to conquer a region, all big or small, each gives you a unique pleasure. You will feel the sense of accomplishment in every cell of your body. This is a production that everyone, even those who don't like FPS games, can enjoy.

My score for the game: 🎮🎮🎮🎮
