Pokemon Unite - Review
There is news that can make MOBA gamers and Pokemon lovers very happy: Pokemon Unite is out. Now, if you don’t know what Pokemon Unite is, let me fill you in and let’s simply review Pokemon Unite.
What Kind of Game is Pokemon Unite?
Pokemon Unite is a game that adds a little more difference to the MOBA games you know, because here you don’t attack towers, you score points by shooting baskets with the pokeballs you’ve collected, and you even have a chance to win the match almost without fighting the opposing team at all.
In the game, you collect Pokeballs by defeating NPC characters and score points by making baskets with these pokeballs at the opponent’s tower. The team that scores the most points wins the match.
You can take down someone from the opposing team to earn points, but I can't say that it will earn you a lot of points; firstly, that player must have already defeated NPCs and collected pokeballs so that when you defeat them, you get pokeballs and collect points with these pokeballs.
As you defeat NPCs or opposing team members in the game, you gain experience points, and with these experience points, you improve your abilities and obtain a stronger character towards the end of the match. There is no store in the game (within the match), so unlike in LoL or Dota, you cannot strengthen your character by buying items; the game progresses a bit more like "Heroes of The Storm," where you adapt your developed abilities according to the opposing team.
Your main character levels up with the points you earn from matches, and with the points you’ve collected, you can enter raffles and equip your character with new costumes.
You can also upgrade the items you give to your characters, and thanks to these items, your character’s in-game damage can increase, but this doesn't have an excessive effect on the game and doesn't make it pay to win since these items are bought with the money you earn in the game anyway. So you don't need to pay anything in-game.
If you are thinking of spending money in the game, you can only do so for cosmetic items or for things like XP or money bonuses.
After every match, with the in-game coins you win, you can unlock new pokemons.
Matches in the game last a maximum of 10 minutes, and so far the longest match I’ve played lasted 7 minutes.
