REGIONS OF RUIN

It is one of the rare 2D adventure games that I have played without getting bored. The goal is simple: strengthen our character as much as possible, unlock new regions on the map by exploring, clear those areas, develop our main village, and build new structures. Even though it is simple, you don't find yourself saying "enough already, are we doing the same things again?" while playing. You can't say the variety is incredible, but it's just right.

In addition to village upgrades, you can also recruit companions to your side. You can equip all kinds of armor, weapons, and gear and play solo. You might think it is graphically behind most other games, but that is not the case. Regions of Ruin has its own unique style in terms of graphics, gameplay, and story. Throughout the game, there are various mini-games, plenty of quests, and a large map waiting to be explored. Despite the large map, to be honest, it still felt insufficient to me. I wished it offered a longer gameplay experience. Let's just say it left me wanting more.

Even though I say it is a very nice game, it is more suitable for a certain group of players—if you are not very familiar with this type of game. If you are not into both 2D and adventure games, this production might not be suitable for you, but there is a high chance it will change your mind; even if you don't like it, I still suggest you give it a chance and let Regions of Ruin draw you into its world and get you on a breathless adventure.

My score for the game: 🎮🎮
