Spore - Review

Spore

Spore

Spore allows us to create a creature from scratch and evolve it. This game, where we can adjust every detail of our creature, is among my favorite games. And when I say every detail, I really mean every detail. The general shape, posture, eyes, mouths, hands - in short, whatever you want to see in this creature, you can adjust it. While evolving, you can attach better parts, remove parts you don't like, adjust your color, and you can be an herbivore or a carnivore. But before all that, I need to tell you what needs to be done to evolve and what the stages are.

Cell Stage; In this stage, you are a microscopic organism and you need to decide whether you will be a carnivore or an herbivore. If you become an herbivore, you can't eat other cells; if you become a carnivore, you can't eat plants. If you proceed as a carnivorous creature, you can play more aggressively, but if you play as an herbivore, I recommend that you focus on being more peaceful and social. Of course, this applies just for the stages. In this phase, we gather food from the environment and try not to die, and after reaching a certain level, we mate with a counterpart of our own species and start to evolve the new creature that will come forth. By attaching special mouths or self-defense mechanisms we collect from the surroundings, we continue to play in a stronger state. In fact, we play as the children and grandchildren of our first character. The first creature you create doesn't evolve directly. If we can pass this level by repeating the same actions, we can evolve into a species that sets foot on land. In this stage, the game is similar to Pac-Man.

Creature Stage; You have set foot on land, you have a small family and a small piece of land. As before, you should roam around and kill and eat the weak, or you can try to communicate with a community you want to befriend. This communication is very primitive. Once you've eaten enough, your evolution isn't just physical but also mental, meaning your brain grows. In this stage, the game is in TPS mode.

Tribe Stage; Now you have formed a community and you are staying in makeshift places around the fire, and you are not alone in hunting, fighting, or protecting your tribe; you act together with your kin. You hunt for your tribe's development, for new buildings, and to become stronger, but this time you can also store food. Of course, as a result of this storage, wild animals or other tribes will come to steal them. Situations like these usually happen when you go out to attack somewhere, meaning when you go to attack a tribe, another tribe may come to destroy your defenseless tribe and take your food or just a few wild animals may come and steal your food, so you need to be careful. In the game, you don’t have to go out and destroy or attack other tribes or races at every stage. You can communicate with them and become friends, but if you are an aggressive race and don't have well-developed social skills, you may not succeed, so it's helpful to decide in your mind at the very beginning what kind of species you want to create. In this stage, the game turns into a strategy game.

Spore

Civilization Stage; You start building a city and of course you need war machines – tanks, ships, planes, etc. You can shape city buildings as you wish; likewise, you can give your tanks, ships, and planes whatever shape you want, just like your character. To complete this phase, you need to dominate the entire planet. Take control of economic resources around you. You must capture land-locked cities with your tanks and planes and overseas cities with your ships and planes, seizing control for yourself. In this phase, the game continues as a strategy game.

Space Stage; We have reached the final stage of the game. After dominating your planet, you design a spaceship just the way you want and set off into space. You travel to different planets and do various research missions. In this phase, the game turns into a flight simulation.

Spore, which incorporates different game genres, is truly a wonderful creation, and if you don’t want to build your own buildings or spaceships, you can use the designs that other people have already made, or you can modify them. As you progress to the later stages, the game gives you short instructions on how to play, so you don’t feel lost or have difficulty. As you progress, it really gives us a sense of satisfaction. I definitely recommend you play it.
