Theta Edge Node (TFUEL Mining)
WHAT IS THETA EDGE NODE?
Theta Edge Node is a program where you contribute to the Theta Mainnet with the hardware and internet of your device, and you earn TFUEL rewards based on your contribution.
With Theta Edge Node, your device performs tasks assigned to you in the background and you earn a certain amount of TFUEL based on the completed tasks. The TFUEL you earn is deposited into your account in the first week of every month, and you can later transfer it from Edge Node to any wallet application or exchange you prefer.
You can also stake the TFUEL you have on the Theta Edge Node and earn TFUEL in proportion to your staked amount.
Also, as we mentioned in our previous article, since Theta is a protocol developed for video streaming, you can use Theta Edge Node for broadcasting on Theta.tv or for watching broadcasts there if you like.
While watching broadcasts, you can donate TFUEL or THETA to streamers. Likewise, when you start a broadcast, they can donate to you as well.
Theta Edge Node Setup

First, you need to download Theta Edge Node from the link above.
After you open the page to download, scroll down a bit and you will see download links for both Theta Guardian Node and Theta Edge Node.
From here, select and download the Edge Node version appropriate for your operating system.
Note: It only supports 64-bit operating systems.
After downloading the version compatible with your operating system, you simply double-click the setup file to install it, and from there you don't have to do almost anything else. You only need to double-click the installed application and open it when you want to start mining.
Note: Even if you don't have any tasks, you still earn a certain amount of TFUEL per minute/hour, but this amount is quite low. (This is the reward given for sharing your internet connection.)
Note2: In the toolbar above, next to "View", go to "Edge Compute" there, then from "Power Mode" you can select in which mode your device will contribute.
There are 3 options under Power Mode: Light, Medium, and Full.
- Light should be preferred for low-spec devices.
- Medium is recommended for laptops and devices that may have cooling problems due to lower specs.
- Full is preferred for desktop devices that do not have cooling problems.
In the "Watch" section of the application, you can watch broadcasts started by others, or you can start your own broadcast in the "Broadcast" section.
In the "Stake" section, you can stake your TFUEL and earn reward TFUEL based on your staked amount.
Note: What you need to be careful about when using Theta Edge Node is that the Edge Node is unique to the device and you cannot log into your Edge Node account from another device. Therefore, when formatting your computer or similar situations, keep this in mind. Don’t let your mined TFUELs go to waste.
