WHAT IS THETA GUARDIAN NODE?

Guardian Node acts as a secondary safeguard for the nodes created by Validator Nodes and serves as a verifier/controller for malicious blockchains and empty chains.

Since it provides an extra security layer for malicious actors, the Guardian Node is very important for the Theta blockchain.

By running a Guardian Node on your device and staking Theta / Tfuel, you can contribute to the security of Theta.

Summary:

The Guardian Node is a mechanism/program created to protect and monitor the Theta blockchain.

It is a second layer that monitors chains created by the Validator Node and others that might be malicious.

Earning TFUEL with Theta Guardian Node

First, you need to download the Guardian Node from the Theta Token website.

Guardian Node supports many operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. Download the one suitable for your operating system.

For installation, open the downloaded file and let’s do the installation together.

When we first open the program, a screen like this appears and here it actually tells us what we need to do for installation.
If I need to translate what is written here;

  1. Create a Node.
  2. Pair with Theta Network.
  3. Transfer Theta.
  4. Run the Node.
We need to complete the processes here. Let’s start with step 1 first.

In the Create section, set a password and choose where you want to install the Node, then select "Create Node".
After this operation, pairing will begin in the background. 
With the KeyStore created by the Guardian Node, you need to log into Theta's wallet application.


On this page, drag and drop your Keystore file and log in with your password.

Now, to stake to the Guardian Node we have created, we need to send THETA.
After the setup phase is synchronized in the background, a section titled "Deposit Stake" will open and you need to send Theta from your wallet to the address there.

We need to send the Theta we need to stake to the address given to us in the Guardian Node via the wallet.

In the wallet application, we go to the "Deposit Stakes" section.

On the opened page, select "Guardian Node" and continue.

Then, on the opened page, enter the amount you want to send and the address given from the Guardian Node.

Enter the wallet application password to confirm the sending.

After these steps, your Guardian Node setup will be completed and as long as the Guardian Node remains active, you will earn TFUEL.
