Unity Editor Drag and Drop Not Working Solution

Unity Editor Drag and Drop Not Working Solution

Hello everyone, I will talk about a very rarely encountered problem and its solution. A friend who reached out to me on Facebook said that when he tried to drag and drop an object from his computer into Unity, it was not transferred to Unity, and we started looking for a solution.

As a result of a quick internet search, I found that this is related to Windows' "explorer," the file management system, and I must say that the solution is quite simple.

Let's take a look at how to solve this error.

First, you need to open the "Task Manager" and from the "Detail" section, you must close the program called "explorer.exe".

close explorer.exe

You can close it by clicking "End task" at the bottom right.

Start a New Task

Afterwards, you need to go to the "File > Run new task" section from the top.

Create the New Task

On the opened page, after typing "explorer" in the open section, check the box just below to give the task admin privileges, and then when you click the "Ok" button, you will see that now, when you drag and drop files into the Unity Editor, they are transferred without any problems.

This is the end of our article. If anyone still gets errors after these steps, feel free to write below. See you in the next articles, take care of yourselves.
