War Thunder
History has shown us that mankind has been constantly at war. These wars have continually changed form, always started for different reasons, but one thing remained the same: the number of lives lost kept increasing. Wars that were fought with sticks and stones, swords and arrows at first began to be fought with more powerful weapons and on larger fields as time went on. When tanks, planes, and modern ships started to be produced, wars became more terrifying. War Thunder gives us the chance to use almost every vehicle from near-prototype form to its most modern version and battle on gigantic maps. Let's slowly start to review what kind of structure the game has.
There are 100 maps made according to historical fronts. There are over 1800 extremely detailed aircraft, tanks, ships, helicopters, and similar war vehicles. Unlocking all the vehicles, which are also categorized differently among themselves, takes a very long time. For instance, tanks are divided into heavy-medium-light tanks. Aircraft are categorized as bomber-fighter planes, but you can be sure it's even more detailed than that. Also, you progress gradually with the war vehicle you’re using and can unlock its more powerful version. Let me explain it like this: if you are playing with planes, you cannot progress with tanks or ships; furthermore, whatever category of aircraft you play with, you can unlock its new version. In short, unlocking all the war vehicles is really difficult but not impossible. After all, it’s a free to play game, meaning you can play for free. You can buy the premium account feature to speed up this process, or you can purchase some war vehicles you want to use by buying in-game currency.
There are 5 nations in War Thunder. You can pick and play whichever you want, but each nation has its own unique advantages and disadvantages. These countries are United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, United States of America, Germany. Their skins and details are rendered so beautifully that you look at them with admiration. Also, everything can be modified or small details can be added. This feature can make the player feel more connected to the aircraft they are using—at least that's how it happened to me.
The game is extremely rich in content; besides the aspects I’ve explained so far, it has a very good training phase, and they've done a quality job with the music and effects. There are also different modes of PvP battles. Dynamic, historical operations, and single missions, but if you are not a PvP player or if you have grown bored, the PvE content is also fun. Furthermore, War Thunder offers us 3 different game modes while using these war vehicles. These are Simulation, Arcade, and Realistic. Their difficulty increases in this order: Arcade - Realistic - Simulation. The Simulation mode offers much better gameplay and experience than most paid simulation games. However, those who don't want to be tense and challenged that much can play the game with an average difficulty with the Realistic mode. But if you say you don't want any difficulty and want easy gameplay, you can prefer the arcade mode.
Years ago, when I first downloaded and played War Thunder, I can say the game was still in development, and only planes were included. Now, both tanks and ships have been added, and the mechanics and visuals of all are truly detailed. Sometimes I wish I'd never stopped playing. It gave me unforgettable moments—chases I joined by pushing the limits of my low-tech plane, dogfights, they’re all still in my mind. I once used a jet and it was a whole different pleasure for me, but to get to that stage normally, you need to play a lot. The only bad side I can say about this game is that progressing takes a long time without becoming addicted or spending money on it. If you have the time or money, this game will let you have extremely fun moments. Other similar war games on the market may look low quality after you play War Thunder—just a heads up.
