What is Arduino?
Arduino is a physical programming platform consisting of an Input/Output board and a development environment containing an implementation of the Processing/Wiring language.
In general, Arduino is explained in this way, but let me add my own comment and tell you what Arduino is.
Arduino is a programmable board that can be used by developers. Thanks to the pins on this board, it can interact with many devices or additional parts, and you can develop your own project using this board.
A dentist can develop their own projects, a high school student can use it in high school projects, or someone participating in a science competition can develop their own robot with Arduino—it’s entirely up to you.
Arduino is an open-source project, and you can either buy an original Arduino or start using a clone model.
What Can Be Done with Arduino?
What you can do with Arduino is limited only by your experience with Arduino and your imagination.

- Coin-operated systems
- and much more
As I said, even though the above are just a few examples, you can completely develop it depending on your own usage.
About Arduino and Arduino Clone Models
There are many brands on the market like Arduino, and the brands other than Arduino are called clone models. So, what are these clone models? If you’re curious, let me answer right away as I mentioned above.
Since Arduino is an open-source project, anyone who wants to make this board can produce and market it. Therefore, those who find Arduino schematics on the internet and sell for less are selling clone models, but these are identical to original Arduino and you won’t have any issues.
Original Arduino models can be a bit more expensive than clone models because they are used for R&D development on more advanced boards.
Clones such as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation are also divided among themselves, and this is about the quality of the material used. While 1st generation clones are the same quality as an original Arduino, this quality ratio widens in 2nd and 3rd generation clones. The quality of the materials used can be lower.
Which Programming Language Does Arduino Use?
Arduino is programmed with a language similar to C, but it is not exactly the same as C; some commands found in C are not available in Arduino.
At What Voltage Is the Arduino Board Used?
Arduino boards can be used with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 20 volts, but personally, I don’t recommend using voltages higher than 12 volts; in fact, manufacturers also recommend powering it with between 7 and 12 volts.
When using an adapter, you can use your Arduino board comfortably between 7 - 12 volts.
