What is Etcher?
Etcher is a completely free and open source software that you can use to write ISO and IMG disk images to SD cards or USB devices.
With Etcher you can create a formatting disk for almost all Linux and Windows operating systems.
Although creating a formatting disk is very easy on the Windows side, it can take quite a long time on the Linux side. Etcher steps in at this point and allows you to create a formatting disk simply by selecting the "Next" options. The best part is that it not only prepares formatting disks for Linux distributions, but also allows you to create format disks for Windows operating systems.
Etcher is available on all Windows, Mac OS, and Linux platforms.
