Theta promises its users to move video streaming to a decentralized structure and base it on a system with lower costs and greater fairness.

While viewers get access to higher quality videos, content creators also have their costs reduced.

When Was Theta Founded and By Whom?

THETA was founded in 2018 by Mitch Liu and Jieyi Long, who have experience in the gaming industry, and switched to Mainnet in 2019.

YouTube co-founder Steve Chen and Twitch co-founder Justin Kan are also included in the development team.

Is THETA Mined?

THETA is not a cryptocurrency that is mined. However, users earn token rewards based on the contribution they provide to the THETA infrastructure.

There are several ways to contribute to the Theta network, these are;

You earn tokens by performing video render tasks assigned to you on the Theta Node.

Bandwidth

You support the Theta Node network with your internet and earn tokens.

There are 2 programs on the website, Guardian and Edge. 

With these two programs, you earn Theta Token with Guardian Node and Tfuel Token with Edge Node.
