Age of Empires III: Complete Collection - Review

Age of Empires III

The Age Of Empires series, which has become a legendary RTS game series, first told us about the earliest ages of humanity and the middle ages. Next up are the geographic discoveries, and the third game presents this to us. The countries available are; Ottomans, Spain, England, France, Portugal, Russia, the Netherlands, and Germany. The game sometimes shows us the struggles and betrayals between these countries and the Native Americans during their exploration of America. When playing the story part, you never know who will be an enemy or an ally, just like in real history.

This time, we have three resources to collect: wood, food, money; they have removed stone resource from previous games. There are treasures or people on the map, and wild animals protect these. You can kill those animals and capture the treasures or add the people to your army. You can build trading posts on the tribes on the maps or generally on the trade route passing through the center of the map, gaining soldiers, necessary research for military development, and resource flow from them. You can also get experience points from the trade route, not just resources.

You level up thanks to experience points. As your level increases, you can choose soldiers, resources, workers, etc., to bring from your main country. Remember, you can only call certain units appropriate to your current age. I recommend training soldiers in multiples of five. Because one soldier takes the same time as five soldiers, but if you want to train seven soldiers, one group of five and one group of two will come out at the same time, so it is better to train soldiers in multiples of five.

The voice acting is just like the second game, but there is a real improvement in graphics. If your camera angle is too close or you feel your field of view is too narrow, you can zoom out in the settings and try reducing the menu around the screen. This way, you can manage your soldiers more quickly.

We can now pass through trees; yes, we finally get rid of that nonsense from the second game of the series. Of course, this requires carefulness when building walls, otherwise the enemy can directly attack our center from the wooded area left open. Instead of farms, we build mills for our food needs, but this time we can assign multiple workers to the mills.

In short, the game meets all expectations. It brings nice innovations and did not disappoint us, but it caused the debate over whether the second or third game is better to continue for years. For me, both are better than most games of their time, both in terms of story and gameplay. It's a game more suitable for sitting with friends and playing matches for hours or completing the campaign in one night than just trying it out.

My score for the game: 🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮
