Frostpunk - Review
Frostpunk
We had heard the name 11 bit studios with the game This War of Mine and we really enjoyed the game they made. They focused on something we don't usually see in war games, the other side of the wall. In that game, we tried to survive with 4 or 5 people and, for the first time, experienced such psychological suffering and guilt. In their new game Frostpunk, we need to survive as a society and again will have to make psychologically challenging decisions. Let me say now, I will make a review of the first episode and a general overview. There is not just a single story; you can play several stories by progressing chapter by chapter. There is also a game mode in which you're given complete freedom and can build a huge steam city.

Generator
The game Frostpunk is about people, after the coming of the ice age, going to a crater (where there is a generator that was previously built but is not working) and struggling to survive there. Our visible only enemy is the cold, but depending on your decisions, the people can revolt or lose hope. While there is a snowstorm in weather conditions below -100 degrees, my own hope for survival would decrease too.
When you reach the crater with a fixed number of people, there are resources you need to gather there; wood, coal, and steel. Of course, you need to act fast because before your people freeze to death, you need to start the generator, build houses, and set up hunters' lodges (later you can establish greenhouses; you must feed your people). At the same time, you must not forget to develop technologically. We have a technology tree with four different branches: heating, resources, research-industry, and food-health-shelter.

Advanced state of the city
You need to distribute human resources properly or else you may collect one resource while having trouble gathering another. In your newly established city, people are divided into three groups: workers, engineers, and children. Yes, there are children too, and you can choose whether or not to make them work. Some tasks can only be done by engineers.
You can send units called Scouts around to bring other people or resources to your city. To send these units, you first need to build buildings called Beacons. The decisions you make for your exploration team affect their lives and the lives of anyone accompanying them in addition to the decisions you make for the city. Speaking of the decisions you make in the city, you need to enact laws. At certain intervals, you can sign to pass these laws. Laws directly affect your administration and people. A law you pass may cause dissatisfaction or increase your people's hope. Every decision you make will increase or decrease one of these two things, so you must make decisions carefully.

Temperature distribution in the city
When the temperature starts to fall to unbearable levels, there are two paths you can take: religion and dictatorship. If you choose religion, you can increase your people's hope through faith or become a dictator and use your iron fist. Becoming a dictator seems easier and more appealing to me because you can make an example of rioters by punishing them in public. Hanging banners, building propaganda centers, erecting towers, and keeping the city under control is fun. I recommend you try both and see.
There are both small and large decisions that come up as you play, and while you think a lot about which to choose early on, after beating the game a couple of times you stop thinking so much. You start making sacrifices as if saying, "Even if 10 or 20 people lose their lives, humanity will win in the end." I can say that, nevertheless, 11 bit studios have made a beautiful game just like their first. The artwork, music, gameplay, effects, dialogues—everything is almost perfect. If I had to mention something lacking, the only thing I'd say is there could be more choices, but even that is said with reluctance because I loved the game so much. If you enjoy challenging survival games, you should definitely try it. You won't lose anything by trying but you will have played a very enjoyable game.
My score for the game: 🎮🎮🎮
