Half Life - Review

Halflife

Half Life

The first game of a legendary game series, Half-Life, has been accepted as the ancestor of many games as well as being a game that can still be played since its release date. Many games have been made inspired by this game. We can say that the piece of rock we push during the experiment at the beginning of the game started a large part of today’s gaming world. With a Metacritic score of 96, it is shown as the 35th best game ever and the 4th best computer game of all time.

Being the first game of the series, it is also the first game of Valve. The most important feature that distinguishes it from the other games of its era is the absence of cutscenes. As far as I remember, only one short scene was used and there are no loading screens in the game, so the player never gets disconnected from the game, the action never stops, you are always in action. This makes it much easier to finish in a single breath. In order to progress in the game, you need to solve puzzles, and sometimes you need to use the environment to kill aliens. Speaking of which, let's talk about the enemies. When the experiment fails, aliens from another dimension known as Xen are teleported to the Black Mesa Research Facility. Our other enemies are Military Units and Special Operations Units. The only goal of these units is to cover up the incident. For this, they must destroy all living organisms in the facility, including their own soldiers.

In the game, we find ourselves as theoretical physicist Gordon Freeman. Another remarkable character is G-Man, who shows up in some places and disappears. Play this game, make others play it, reflect on it, do everything. A game and story close to perfection.

My score for the game: 🎮🎮🎮
