Hearts of Iron IV (HoI 4) - Review
Hearts of Iron IV
If you love Grand Strategy games, Hearts of Iron IV will definitely appeal to you. This game, which processes the World War II theme, comes in a much more advanced form in every way compared to the previous game in the series. Before going into technical details, I want to quickly end the phase of praising the game here, let's get started. The Clausewitz game engine used by Paradox Interactive is really an engine that deserves credit, I like it a lot. I know you will really like the music while playing, so I won't mention them, but the sound effects are also quite successful. Already being something stand-alone and long-lasting, HoI 4, with its mod support, is one of the rare games that you can play until you're tired of it.

As a start, I definitely recommend you play the tutorial part of the game. Because they have made it different even compared to the old game, in order to reach every audience. In our game, there are 6 resources: Oil, plastic, aluminum, steel, tungsten, and chrome. There are 3 types of production facilities (factories): civilian factories, military factories, dockyards. We produce for different needs in all of them. Factories are very important and thanks to the interface, we can select with how many factories and what equipment or vehicles and how much we'll produce. Every interface of the game is nice and well made, don’t think I’m just praising for this part.
In HoI 4 there are 8 screens: production, trade, construction, logistics, recruitment, diplomacy, politics, and research. The interface is good in all, options are plenty, so in this game where we manage states and topple others, everything is either sufficient or more than beautiful. The only problem I see is if you entrust your army to your commander and leave the attack (planning) to them, you may never see your army again. If you can manage, command all your armies yourself. If you urgently need an army, you can take and send your soldiers to war as inexperienced once they complete 20% of their training they've just started.

You can prepare your units for war either in the way designed by the game or as you wish. You can train your armies that aren’t fighting (by drilling) so they can gain experience. There are things to remember during a war; creating crucial factors like attack plans and defense lines. Winning air superiority and countless other things. In terms of research, if you try to research something before its time, it takes a long time. Doing each research in its year is good for you.
As I said in all Paradox Interactive games, you’ll learn by playing how to win. It may seem very difficult at first but if you don’t give up, you’ll gradually start to understand how the game works and start to enjoy it. This game, which I love in every way, is one that strategy lovers can play for days. The pleasure of playing with friends in multiplayer is something else. It will be a tough journey, but I think you will love the world of Hearts of Iron.
My score for the game: 🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮
