Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice - Review
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Having played many games up to this day, I never thought I would enjoy playing a game this much, or love it this much. With its successful story and graphics, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice offers us a wonderful gaming experience.
If we touch upon the story of the game, we control Senua, who has lost her lover, and we are willing to do anything to bring our lover back.
Our character isn't very smart, and this has a big impact on the story. Don't take it in a bad way when I say not smart, our character is just a little bit crazy.
Anyway, in this game, which beautifully blends Greek mythology and love, we try to save our character's lover from a place called Hell. Of course, to save our lover from Hell, we first need to get there, and we do so by completing mission-like progresses, entering Hell and then, taking a sword blended with Greek mythology, we need to defeat all our enemies.
After defeating the final boss in the game, we feel like we've completed our story.
Whether its the graphics, the story or the sounds, the game is really beautiful.
Especially the use of a 3D sound system has given the game a fantastic atmosphere. Although using a single camera instead of multiple cameras during production seems like a downside, the superb sound system management in the game covers up this flaw.
For example, when there is a character attacking us from behind in the game, the voices in our head say behind you and we instantly realize we need to dodge the character behind us.
There are 2-3 voices swirling in our head in the game, and if we play the game with headphones, the voice on the right comes from the right headphone, and the voice on the left from the left, and this game really offers us a great sound experience; in fact, the developer says that playing with headphones is better.
Lets move on to another plus of the game... Although the game does not have Turkish voice acting, there is an official Turkish subtitle option provided by the developers, so we can play and understand the story in Turkish.
If we talk about the puzzle system in the game, we open doors with the puzzle system and continue our progress, but compared to other games, the puzzle system is quite different.
To open the doors, we need to find and remember the hidden symbols around, and these symbols are hidden very cleverly. Sometimes in a shadow, sometimes in a window, and sometimes in an illusion, these symbols make the puzzle system of the game really beautiful.
In my opinion, the only bad part of the game was the gameplay, because in some places we cannot control the camera, and things like the character not being able to jump freely or crouch in an open world can be seen as cons in my eyes, but the atmosphere, story, graphics, and sounds totally made me overlook these flaws.
Although the game is worth its price, if you think you wouldnt pay that much, you can grab it on Steam when its on sale.
My score for the game: 3ae3ae3ae3ae3ae
