Wouldn't a relaxing game be great after a tiring day? Kingdom offers us this delight. To play, it's enough to only use the arrow keys. Your goal is, as a king, to expand your lands, collect gold and gather people from around to make them your subjects, but that's not all; you must also protect your lands, your gold, your people and most importantly, your crown (if you take one more hit while you have no gold left, you lose your crown and the monsters start taking it away).

     The longevity of the game is great, and I say this based on the fact that a different map is generated every time. If we were always playing on the same map, we would quickly get bored. Its graphics are easy on the eyes and look so cute that I fell in love with it. Especially the music—those lovely tunes that play separately in the morning and night had me totally hooked. The morning music relaxes you, while at night it fills you with fear. The only reason for the music's change is to notify you that monsters are coming. All the monsters want is to steal your gold, and of course, your crown. Remember, if the crown goes, the game ends.

     There are three types of monsters: The Greed, Floater, Giant. The Greed: You can think of these monsters, whose only wish is a bit of gold, as thieves, but dangerous thieves. Floater: These are flying monsters whose intention is to kidnap your soldiers or people from your populace. Giant: Here's our gigantic monster. They're tough and try to destroy everything. I mentioned your soldiers—people you recruit by giving them 1 gold in camps around as workers, and these people who get equipment you produce are divided into three different classes. Archer: You could say your army mainly consists of this unit. Knight: There can be four of them total, they enable you to order attacks. Builder: Their duties include using catapults, cutting down trees, building towers and structures. Farmer: Works in the fields to earn you gold. To win the game, you have to break the portals where the monsters come from. This is where you need to command your knights and launch an attack together with the archers. When the portals are broken, many monsters pour out, so be careful.

     Even though it is a two-dimensional and small production, you can't understand how immersive and delightful it can be without playing. The Kingdom series (actually, it is called a single game, and the full name is Kingdom: New Lands) is sure to offer you a different experience from other adventure games you've played so far. This game, which offers a calm and enjoyable gameplay, is definitely among my recommendations.
