Portal 2 - Review
Portal 2
At the end of the first game in the series, we had defeated GlaDOS and almost escaped from Aperture Science, but as we lay half unconscious on the ground, something making robotic sounds was dragging us along. In Portal 2, our same test subject Chell wakes up in a room. The facility has been damaged and the absence of GlaDOS is clearly felt. During the game, we are joined by our blue-eyed, small robot friend. His name is Wheatly. He is a bit witty, a bit cowardly, a little mad but smart. And after all, all smart people are a little mad.
With every feature and every event, the new game is more advanced and improved compared to the previous one. GlaDOS shows her resentment by throwing subtle shade at us. The turrets also talk to us again, but now they use more sentences. The puzzles aren't particularly harder; if you've played the first game, they may even feel simple. Among the new features: we can now zoom with our portal gun, there are Aerial Faith Plates that launch you up high, and with the blue gel called Repulsion Gel, you can jump even higher. There are also new types added among our cubes.
The Co-op part is obviously better than the story mode. Any game played together with your friends is already fun. One of you plays the short and round Atlas, the other plays the tall and thin P-Body. Together, you can open 4 portals, but the co-op sections are a bit harder. Even if you can't talk in the game, there are plenty of ways to easily communicate. There are options like "open a portal here," "look over there," and even a countdown timer that is very useful for timed actions. Most parts of the game already require hand-eye coordination and quick movements.

This game gave us so much. Sometimes it made us angry, sometimes it took a lot from us, but one thing was never missing: the smile on our faces thanks to its jokes. Thank goodness Valve released Portal 2, thank goodness there is a co-op mode, and we laughed out loud playing with our friends. Portal 2 is definitely among my top recommendations. Don’t deprive yourself of this beautiful game.
My score for the game: 🎮🎮🎮
