Portal - Review
Portal
Unlike classic puzzle-solving adventure games, Portal, a game created as a pure puzzle, is in my opinion the best example of its kind, maybe even the best example. Some sections won’t even last 10 minutes, while others could take up hours. The main reason for this difference is missing a small detail.
Actually, the logic in the game is simple; you have a gun that lets you open 2 portals. By opening these portals on walls, ceilings, and floors, you try to pass the section. Of course, passing is not that simple, sometimes you need to use the portals you open to gain speed and jump somewhere. You’ll need to throw objects on little robots that shoot at you by placing portals above them to make them ineffective. You’ll use cubes to open doors and there are many other things you need to do. You’ll need to see even the smallest details. As a result, you can get lost in the details and get frustrated. This also makes the game one-time only; even if you want to play again, you’ll solve the same puzzles. Naturally, you don’t get the same pleasure as the first time you play.
Although it is challenging, it’s not a long game. I can say it’s a game like brain training, short but functional. If you ask what playing Portal adds to us; it improves our skill to think differently (You start thinking like Portal), it teaches patience, and many other things. In the second game of the series, you can play the sections co-op and you start going crazy with your friend (you become a "Science Buddy" in the game) trying to complete the levels together. Good luck already.
My score for the game: 🎮🎮🎮🎮
