What is Gamification?

It is the use of concepts and dynamics related to games in a non-game context.
With gamification, the number of participants increases and the activity of existing users also rises; since their motivation increases, gamified things attract more attention from people than usual.
Games help people complete ordinary or challenging tasks and even real-life duties.

For example, in school, when a teacher promises a reward for answering a question in class, about 90% of the children put more effort into solving the question.

How Does Gamification Work?

In fact, gamification can work differently depending on what you are gamifying, but generally speaking;

Points and Rewards: Imagine you are in a math class and each time you answer a question correctly, your teacher gives you rewards or points. In this way, you will surely solve the questions more efficiently and motivated.
Levels: Every time you answer a question correctly, you move up a level and unlock more difficult questions. As the rewards you earn increase in value, this provides an example for levels.
Badges: Yes, we see this best in the military: if you are a good soldier, you get promoted and earn badges, which actually indicate your level. You can further motivate your users with badges.
Leaderboard: Everyone likes to be number one at something, and they love to have the things in which they are the best shared and seen by others even more.
Progress Bars: Progress bars should show the person what they have accomplished so far, give hints about future achievements, and display their development. In this way, the person will see what they have achieved so far and feel proud of themselves.

So, the process of gamification actually involves these steps, and you can apply them almost everywhere in your life to gamify anything.

Why is Gamification Successful?

Things done with gamification are liked more by users, and this is the biggest factor in its success.
Gamification is fun and interesting, motivational, challenging but offers achievable goals, and since success is socially accepted, it promises success for the project.
