Github is a web-based storage system that serves to develop projects using Git as a version control system.It offers paid private repositories for private projects, while providing free storage space for open source projects.
Github was founded in 2008 and has provided repository service for many projects since its inception.
Github, which has received great interest from many developers who do not want their projects to be deleted from their HDDs or due to formatting their computer, has gained considerable popularity among today's programmers and project developers, and has also been acquired by a company like Microsoft.
Microsoft purchased Github for 7.5 billion dollars.
Its first founders are Chris Wanstrath and PJ Hyett.
