What is the Godot Engine?
Godot Engine is a game engine released in 2014 that allows you to create 2D and 3D games. In addition to being very simple, it is also free and open source. It works on all major operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and Mac OS.
Even though Godot Engine is free, it is a very powerful game engine and it keeps getting stronger with each passing year.

Scripting
When developing games with the Godot Engine, you can use scripting languages such as C++, C#, or any GD-Native language. At the same time, you can also develop your games using a very simple language called GD Script, and Godot Engine also has a visual scripting system called Visual Script.
Rendering
The Godot Engine uses OpenGL ES 3 as its graphics engine, and Vulkan support was also added to the system with Godot Engine 4.
Other
Since we have mentioned the main important features above, we can also list other features of Godot Engine.
- Performance analysis graph
- Light Baking
- Plugin system
- Keyboard, Gamepad, Touchscreen support
- Particle system
There is not much difference between it and today's advanced game engines, but I cannot say that the user interface is very user-friendly; people who want to use it need to get a bit used to the interface first, which takes a bit longer compared to Unity or Unreal Engine, but once you get used to it, it is a game engine that is quite fun and easy to use.
